CALL FOR PAPERS

An Event for Young Researchers from South East Europe

The South East European Research Centre (SEERC), a Research Centre of the University of Sheffield and CITY Liberal Studies, is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual South East European Doctoral Student Conference. Building on the success of last year’s event, a two-day conference for PhD candidates will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on the 22nd and 23rd of June 2007. The conference aims to further promote an exchange of knowledge between young researchers and help to establish and consolidate the network of scholars currently undertaking research in South East Europe. Further objectives of the conference are to overcome academic isolation, establish new collaborative links among disciplines, test the ground for innovative ideas, and help ‘engage’ the wider academic community.

Aims and Objectives of the Conference

  1. To provide a forum for doctoral students to present their research to a broad, multi-disciplinary audience.
  2. Dissemination to increase visibility with regard to the research that is being currently conducted in South East European (SEE) countries.
  3. To strengthen links and collaboration with Universities and Research Institutes in SEE.
  4. To provide young researchers with feedback on their ongoing research work.
