How the Programme Works
There are two possible modes of study towards obtaining a PhD degree of The University of Sheffield through the Doctoral Programme of SEERC, both of which typically involve joint supervision by academic staff from a Faculty at Sheffield and the University's International Faculty - City College:
A) Full Time programme: The duration is 3 years (normally) and it requires full-time commitment on the part of the PhD student, which means that one would have to be physically present at SEERC premises, in Thessaloniki.
B) Part Time programme: The duration is 6 to 8 years (normally). To be eligible for a part-time PhD the candidate should be able to prove significant experience in their selected field. In this case, the PhD student has the obligation of a minimum of one visit to Thessaloniki annually for supervision purposes (both with the City College and Sheffield supervisor). All other communication with supervisors occurs via e-mail and telephone.
We accept proposals from qualified students, either for part-time or full-time study on a tuition paying scheme. For information on tuition fees please send an e-mail to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
