The conference is wide in scope, taking papers from across the range of economics and political economy, including contributions from political science, sociology, and peace and security studies. A strength of the conference has been the quality of policy debate that has taken place. The Annual International Conference on Economics and Security has been running for nine years and has become the main international forum for defence and peace economists, attracting participants from all around the world.
