WELCOME TO THE 4th FIT4RRI NEWSLETTER!
We hope this newsletter finds you in the best of health and sanity. Unfortunately, our final summit had to be postponed due to the Covid19 outbreak, but luckily we can extend the project until October 2020.
Today we would like to share some project news with you:
FIT4RRI FINAL SUMMIT 2020 POSTPONED

Due to the Covid19 pandemia we had to postpone our final summit. But postponed is not abandoned - due to the extension for six months luckily we will be able to have either a stationary or a virtual summit. Stay tuned. We will keep you informed.

Our final summit “RRI for real” will mark the end of FIT4RRI. During the last three years our consortium brought together experts from nine European countries, who analysed and tested how to foster the real uptake of Responsible Research & Innovation and Open Science. The summit will start a new collaborative phase of shaping the future of open science and society relations.

PROJECT NEWS & UPDATES

FIT4RRI Guidelines "Starting the Process" launched

We are happy to announce the online launch of the Guidelines on governance settings for RRI "Starting the Process". They are available for online browsing and for download as full PDF or as Executive Summary PDF under CC-BY.

The guidelines mark one of the main results of the FIT4RRI project and are intended to deal with this complex set of issues, starting from a simple question: how to effectively embed RRI and Open Science in research organisations?

Implementing RRI and OS for research funding and performing organisations already exposed to rapid and sometimes painful transformations is often quite difficult. Therefore these guidelines provide orientations on how making RRI and OS practically feasible for them. It starts from the analysis and interpretation of the actual situation and its changes, gives background on the decision process and goes into the details of the actual implementation.

The rich set of resources (part 1part 2part 3) in form of short incisive articles are worth some browsing as well.

Feedback is very welcome.

New online courses available in the RRI toolkit

Check out our new online courses in the RRI toolkit on the FOSTER platform.

This RRI toolkit includes all the necessary courses to assist learners not only how to put RRI in practice, but also to make a strong connection between RRI and Open Science, an essential component for the application of RRI.

Each course takes about 1-3 hours to complete and each learner can receive a badge after its completion. The toolkit includes courses from both projects, FIT4RRI and FOSTER
