DSC 2018 - A conference for young researchers

Welcome message

Dear Doctoral Students,

You are cordially invited to participate in the Doctoral Student Conference 2018 (DSC 2018) which will be held on 9-11 May 2018 at CITY College, International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, Thessaloniki, Greece.

Building on the success of the previous Doctoral Conferences, which have totally attracted more than 900 research papers from countries all over the SE European region and beyond (UK, Australia, South Africa, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Belgium and USA), we are pleased to announce this event.

The aim of the conference is to further facilitate the exchange of knowledge between young researchers, and to consolidate the established network of scholars currently undertaking research in South East Europe. Doctoral students and young researchers are invited to attend and present papers related to their topic. Doctoral students will have the opportunity to discuss their research with senior academics and to build networks with other students from around the world. All peer reviewed accepted papers that are presented in the conference will be indexed in EBSCO DATABASE. The Conference is open to young researchers currently undertaking doctoral study, or in the early years of their research career. It has an inter-disciplinary focus and the themes and topics reflect the organisation of research by tracks of interest within SEERC.

Thessaloniki is a symbolic city in Europe with both a glorious history of 2400 years, and a cosmopolitan modern feel. Our target is to ensure that DSC 2018 will provide to Doctoral Students both networking opportunities and a supportive venue for constructive peer review and critique of ongoing research output. We hope all the delegates will have a successful and educationally rich conference, and also the chance to enjoy our famous Greek hospitality for which our country is widely appreciated!

We are looking forward to warmly welcoming you all to the Doctoral Student Conference 2018.

Dr George Eleftherakis and Prof. Panayiotis H. KETIKIDIS
General Chairpersons
