A research project coordinated by our research centre, SEERC The MIGRATE Jean Monnet Network had its second open event in Berlin on September 14th, 2017. SEERC, as the lead coordinator of the project was represented by Mr Nikos Zaharis, Director of SEERC, who opened the event, Dr Alexandra Prodromidou, the MIGRATE Academic Coordinator and Lecturer at our Business Administration & Economics Department (BAED) and Dr Pavlos Gkasis, the Director for Research of BAED and MIGRATE Research Associate. Both presented on their research findings. The event was organised by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and took place at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Akademie, Berlin. Visit MIGRATE’s official website.

It is a great pleasure for us, the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College, together with the South East European Research Centre (SEERC) to host the 10th International Conference for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Regional Development (ICEIRD-2017) on 31st August – 1st September 2017 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Over the past 10 years ICEIRD has become one of the leading entrepreneurship, innovation and regional development conferences in Europe, attracting academics and practitioners from around the world. A central theme of ICEIRD over the past decade had been the importance of attributed to universities, industry and government, and how to promote innovation-led growth.

This Joint EMCDDA-Pompidou Group Report is part of the work conducted by the Expert Group on “Possible adverse effects and associated cost of drug control policies”. The final report will come out in December, following permanent correspondents’ consultations.

Titled ‘The Migrant Crisis within the Greek context’, the Summer School 2017 was completed successfully and proved to be an exciting experience for the international group of participants (including students from the University of Sheffield, UK) who joined this year’s course.
