The South-East European Research Centre (SEERC) is an overseas research centre of the University of Sheffield, established as a non-profit legal entity in Thessaloniki, Greece. The centre was founded by The University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College in 2003.

The aim of the two-day workshop was to provide in-depth discussion of cutting-edge issues related to the Triple Helix model. The aim was to solicit contributions that address the challenges of governance, interaction, co-alignment, facilitation and intermediation in the Triple Helix model of entangled government - industry - university. The focus was set on the role of institutions in the governance and intermediation process and key institutional actors that shape the UK industry-university landscape and facilitate interactions. In particular, challenges faced by the entrepreneurial universities and entrepreneurial governments throughout the process of innovation, knowledge transfer and knowledge commercialisation have been investigated.

Mobile devices ownership is growing extremely fast and mobile learning is constantly gaining popularity among academics and other formal and informal educational settings. The “anytime” and “anywhere” features of mobiles devices such as smartphones and tablets make them a valuable tool for accessing learning material. Mobile learning, as an e-learning extension, offers people the possibility to acquire knowledge and skills in a ubiquitous and personalized manner, facilitating a learner-centered learning experience.The special session “Motivating Students with Mobiles” (MsM’2014) within the IMCL International Conference aims to promote the discussion on the impact of mobile learning on student motivation and self-regulation in conjunction with their learning performance.
