The SureMap project partners are excited to present the official results of the project after a long period of cross-country cooperation between European and Egyptian Universities. The project, which focused on a co-design and co-development process, is now running 4 different programs on 4 Universities in Egypt (Alexandria University, The American University in Cairo, Heliopolis University and Aswan University), that focus on the Water, Energy and Food management and security .
The SureMap partners have developed the aforementioned programs with the aim to establish an Engineering MSc that trains engineers, suitably qualified to implement the “1.5 million feddan desert reclamation” target, as well as similar water, energy and food related challenges in the “Egypt 2030” strategy.
The curricula content is oriented towards the need to combine know-how in solar technology, hydrology, and irrigation with mechanical, electrical, soil engineering and urban planning as well as ecological and environmental aspects.
The full list of the programs which are runnning in Higher Institutions are:
- The Professional Master program in Natural Resources Management for Desert Development (NRMDD), in Aswan University
- The M.Sc. in Natural Resources Sustainability for Land Development (NRSLD), in Alexandria University
- The 2 Masters programs: Professional Master of Science in Engineering (Specialization in Sustainable Water Engineering and Management) & (Specialization In Sustainable Energy Engineering and Management), in Heliopolis University
