The sustained political and media focus on movements of people across the Mediterranean Sea, which peaked in 2015, has moved on. However, the people who moved remain in Europe - and the medium and long term issues of managing diversity are only just beginning to be addressed. What is life like now for those who moved a few years ago and remain in precarious living settings with insecure immigration status? How are local organizations and institutions, in the places where numbers of recent international incomers peaked in 2015-2016, moving on from the crisis of arrival to longer term questions of integration and settlement? And what are the long terms implications for a ‘new’ European politics of the language of migration crisis, given the rise in populism and far-right political movements across many European countries?

The project “Vocational Education and Training for sport workers – Innovative program for building personal and social skills” (VET4SPORT) aims to promote empowerment, inclusion, and respect for diversity by enhancing the professional skills of sport workers, as innovative approach to VET. The project has contributed to good quality coaching and training by providing access to knowledge upgrading their HR skills and liberal values, as necessary to their profession.

For the 4th consecutive year CITY College, International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, and its research centre, SEERC, celebrated academic research with the Young Researchers Week 2019 (YRW2019). This year the YRW2019 took place in Thessaloniki 13-17 May 2019 and attracted many young researchers eager to showcase and share their work.

Today, there are dozens of young people from Kosovo studying in Greece, the majority of which are in Thessaloniki, due to its geographic proximity to Prishtina. The presence of young students who study in international educational institutions has been made possible thanks to scholarships granted by private colleges operating in Greece, in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Education of Kosovo and state or private universities in Kosovo.
