Dr Kelly Pasmatzi
Dr. Pasmatzi is an Assistant Professor at the CITY College, University of York Europe Campus. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the Department of English Language and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2006. She moved on to pursue her studies in Translation and Intercultural Studies at the CTIS, University of Manchester, where she completed her MA (2008) and her PhD (2014). At Manchester, she taught the language-specific practical components (EN-EL, EL-EN) of a variety of MA translation modules, such as literary translation, commercial translation, translating for international organizations as well as technical and scientific translation for a period of three years. During her PhD studies she was actively involved in a variety of academic activities. She was a member of the organizing committee of the 6th IPCITI conference, which was held in Manchester and for which the committee secured a grant from the MHRA (UK). In 2010, she undertook extensive research training as a candidate of the Translation Research Summer School, held in UCL. She has presented and participated in a series of events (conferences, symposia, panels) in the UK and in Europe. In 2016 she joined the journal New Voices in Translation Studies as a member of the editorial board. Dr. Pasmatzi has also acted as a peer reviewer for academic journals in the field of Translation Studies.
