The PhD Call is a joint programme offered by the University of York and CITY College, the University of York Europe Campus.

The 2022-23 Call was a diverse call characterized by interdisciplinary topics cementing existing collaborations between York and CITY College researchers and giving rise to new ones. It saw the recruitment of two PhD candidates, Vijon Baraku and Evangelos Barmpas in Computer Science, Elina Morina in Psychology, Dimitrios Symeonidis in Business and Society and Georgia Papaioannou in Health Sciences, whose PhD is embedded in the funded Horizon 2020 project MENTBEST: Protecting Mental Health in Times of Change .

All projects form part and contribute towards CITY College and SEERC’s research priorities, which are Sustainability, Digital Transformation and Well-being and Inclusion, highlighting our commitment to societal improvement and our drive to firmly respond to contemporary needs, challenges and opportunities.
